How it works
SubstackDownloader helps you keep your subscribed reading easy to access: paste a URL, pick a format, and save posts to read whenever you want.
- 1
Single article
Paste any Substack article URL (
substack.comor a custom domain likeslowboring.com), choose Markdown, DOCX, or PDF, then download. Public posts work without signing in. - 2
Paywalled posts
Click Sign in to Substack and follow the steps to prove you're a subscriber. We never ask for your password — only a login token copied from your own browser. It is never stored on our servers and is only used for the downloads you trigger.
- 3
Whole publication (ZIP or folder)
Switch to All Articles, enter the publication homepage URL, connect your account, then download a ZIP or — in Chrome or Edge — save each post directly into a folder on your computer as it downloads. For large archives, use export to folder option and if a download stops early, just re-run it — the Skip articles already downloaded option means you won't lose progress.
